What’s Your Wellness Superpower?
Get ready to discover the healthy habits you do best—and learn how to make them even stronger!
Welcome the class and introduce today’s adventure. Explain that everyone has unique health and wellness habits that act like their personal superpowers. Tell students they’ll learn what these superpowers are and how to strengthen them.
What Is a Wellness Superpower?
• A wellness superpower is a health habit or skill you do naturally well.
• It keeps your body, mind, or relationships strong.
• Examples: drinking enough water, calming yourself when upset, helping friends.
Define the term clearly. Ask: “What habits or skills help you feel strong, happy, or connected?” Encourage volunteers to share quick ideas.
Physical Wellness Superpowers
You’re an Active Avenger when you:
• Move your body (run, bike, dance)
• Eat fruits, veggies, and balanced meals
• Drink plenty of water
• Get enough sleep every night
Discuss each bullet. Ask students to call out other physical habits that keep them healthy. Reinforce that these are superpowers because they take practice and care.
Emotional Wellness Superpowers
You’re a Mood Master when you:
• Practice deep breathing or mindfulness
• Use positive self-talk
• Notice and name your emotions
• Find healthy ways to relax (drawing, reading)
Invite students to share ways they calm down when stressed or lift their mood. Highlight that emotional wellness is just as powerful as physical.
Social Wellness Superpowers
You’re a Kindness Champion when you:
• Listen actively to friends and family
• Offer help or encouragement
• Solve conflicts respectfully
• Work well in teams or groups
Encourage examples of kindness and teamwork. Emphasize that social strengths help both you and others feel connected.
Identify Your Superpowers
- Think of three wellness habits you do well.
- Write each one down on your reflection sheet.
- Be prepared to share why it matters to you.
Guide students to think quietly and write down three superpowers they do best. Circulate to support and prompt specific habits.
Power Up Your Goals
Turn each superpower into a SMART goal:
• Specific: What exactly will you do?
• Measurable: How will you track it?
• Achievable: Is it realistic?
• Relevant: Why is it important?
• Time-bound: When will you complete it?
Explain the SMART goal format. Model one example. Encourage students to make their goals Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

Time: 10 minutes
Purpose: Give every student a chance to share one SMART goal from their reflection and receive positive feedback to build confidence and community.
Setup: Arrange chairs in a circle so everyone can see and hear each other. Place your reflection sheets handy.
Steps:
- Remind students of respectful listening: eyes on speaker, quiet voices, and positive body language.
- Explain the sharing format:
- Name & Goal: “My SMART goal is…”
- Why It Matters: “I chose this goal because…”
- Go around the circle: each student shares their goal and why it’s important.
- After each share, classmates give:
- One Positive Comment: Acknowledge strength or effort (e.g., “I like how specific your goal is!”).
- One Supportive Question or Suggestion: Offer encouragement or a helpful idea (e.g., “What will you do if you get stuck?”).
- Teacher adds praise, clarifies any SMART elements if needed, and highlights common themes.
- Once everyone has shared, close with a group reflection:
- Question: “What did you learn from hearing someone else’s goal?”
- Response: Quick thumbs-up/thumbs-down or a one-word share.
Assessment: Listen for clear goal statements and connections between students’ wellness superpowers and their SMART goals. Provide targeted praise and guidance.
