A classwide program using storytelling and role-play to cultivate empathy, improve behavior, and strengthen classroom community. This Tier 1 lesson is designed for a 5th grade class over one 50-minute session, guiding students through activities that build perspective-taking and emotional understanding.
This 30-minute Tier 1 lesson guides a 4th-grade class through establishing classroom ground rules and mutual respect to create an inclusive learning environment. Students will co-construct a safe-space charter they’ll refer to all year.
In this Tier 2 small group lesson for 4th graders, students will learn to identify and create personalized behavior signals to communicate when they need a break. In a single 40-minute session, they’ll brainstorm ideas, explore examples, design their own signal, and practice using it to build independence and self-advocacy.
In this Tier 2 small group lesson for 5th graders, students learn the 'Pause and Breathe' technique—a quick intervention for emotional regulation. Over 15 minutes, students will explore why breathing helps calm the body and practice bubble breathing to de-escalate independently. This session equips students with simple, self-directed tools to reset when they feel upset.
