  • Ensure the short video linked in the slide deck is accessible and ready to play.
  • Print copies of the Responsibility & Time Tracker Worksheet for each student.
  • Gather pens or pencils for students to use with the worksheet.
  • Review all generated materials as needed to ensure a smooth lesson delivery.

Step 1

Warm-Up: The Time Crunch Challenge

5 minutes

  • Objective: Activate prior knowledge and set the stage for the lesson.
  • Instructions: Begin by asking students: “How many of you feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day? Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by your to-do list.”
  • Display Slide 2 of the Your Time, Your Triumph! Slide Deck.
  • Ask students to quickly jot down 1-2 things they struggle to find time for each week. (e.g., studying, hobbies, sleep). Briefly share a few examples as a class.

Step 2

Video & Discussion: The Power of Planning

10 minutes

  • Objective: Introduce the core concepts of time management and responsibility.
  • Instructions:
    • Introduce the video: “Today, we’re going to explore some powerful strategies to help you conquer your schedule and feel more in control. Let’s start with a short video that highlights the importance of planning and taking charge.”
    • Play the video embedded on Slide 3 of the Your Time, Your Triumph! Slide Deck.
    • After the video, facilitate a brief discussion using Slide 4 and Slide 5:
      • “What was one key takeaway from the video about managing your time?”
      • “How does taking responsibility for your tasks impact your overall stress levels or success?”
      • “Can you think of a time when good planning helped you achieve a goal?”

Step 3

Activity: Responsibility & Time Tracker

10 minutes

  • Objective: Apply time management and responsibility concepts to personal tasks.
  • Instructions:
    • Distribute the Responsibility & Time Tracker Worksheet.
    • Explain the activity using Slide 6 of the Your Time, Your Triumph! Slide Deck.
    • “Now, let’s put these ideas into practice. On your worksheet, I want you to list three important tasks or responsibilities you have this week (e.g., a major assignment, a family chore, a commitment to a club).”
    • “Next to each task, estimate how much time it will take and then brainstorm one specific action you can take to manage that time effectively and one way you can demonstrate responsibility for completing it.”
    • Circulate the room to provide support and answer questions. After about 7 minutes, ask a few students to share one task and their strategy with a partner or the class.

Step 4

Cool-Down: My Next Step

5 minutes

  • Objective: Consolidate learning and plan for future application.
  • Instructions: Display Slide 7 of the Your Time, Your Triumph! Slide Deck.
  • “To wrap up, take a moment to reflect. On the back of your worksheet, or on a separate piece of paper, write down ONE concrete time management or responsibility strategy you will try to implement in the next 24 hours.”
  • “For example, 'I will set a timer for my homework' or 'I will break down my big project into smaller steps.'”
  • Collect the worksheets or have students hold them up as an exit ticket.
