  • Avoid expressing their feelings or needs.
  • Let others make decisions for them.

What's Your Style?

Time for a quick self-assessment! Let's see which communication style you use most often. (Don't worry, there's no wrong answer!)

Transition to the self-assessment. Explain that it's about understanding themselves, not judging.

Scenario Time!

In groups, you'll discuss and role-play different situations. How would each communication style handle it? Which is best?

Explain the upcoming activity where students will practice different styles in scenarios.

Unlock Your Superpower!

You have the power to choose how you communicate. Being assertive helps you connect better with others!

Conclude by emphasizing the power of choosing the right communication style.

Warm Up

Communication Vibe Check

Instructions: Think about how you typically communicate with your friends, family, or teachers. Read the statements below and choose the one that sounds MOST like you.

  1. When I have something important to say, I usually say it directly and clearly, making sure to listen to others too.

  2. I often keep my opinions to myself to avoid arguments or making others upset.

  3. If I'm upset about something, I might complain to others about it instead of talking to the person directly involved.

  4. I tend to speak up strongly for what I want, even if it means interrupting or disagreeing loudly with others.

Quick Share: Be ready to share why you chose your answer, without revealing your choice specifically.
