Words Matter Lesson Plan

Students will learn to recognize feelings when friends say unkind things and practice positive, respectful responses through a social story, discussion, role-play, and reflection.

Building empathy, communication skills, and self-confidence helps students handle peer conflict calmly, understand others’ feelings, and respond assertively to unkind words.
