Winter Wonderland Sensory Exploration

In this lesson, students will engage in a sensory exploration of snow and ice. They will feel the coldness of ice and observe its melting process with assistance. Ice cubes, Salt, Tactile snowflake shapes, Soft towels, Plastic trays, and Winter Wonderland Sensory Cards

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Begin with a gentle introduction to winter using tactile snowflake shapes.
  • Allow students to touch and feel the shapes while discussing winter.

Step 2

Sensory Activity: Feeling Ice

10 mins

  • Place ice cubes on soft towels for students to touch and feel the coldness.
  • Assist students in observing the ice closely, using tactile cues.

Step 3

Sensory Activity: Melting Ice

10 mins

  • Sprinkle a small amount of salt on the ice cubes.
  • Help students observe the melting process, using simple language and gestures.
