Slide Deck

Home vs. School Impact Charts

Exploring how home and school environments contribute to academic achievement and well-being.

Introduce the purpose of this slide deck: to compare key support dimensions at home versus school and examine their impact on student success.

Academic Support Comparison

[Bar Chart: Weekly Academic Support Hours]
• Home: 5 hours of structured homework help
• School: 3 hours of tutoring & study halls

Point out each bar in the chart. Explain that on average, students receive 5 hours of structured homework support at home versus 3 hours of after-school tutoring at school per week.

Emotional & Social Support

[Column Chart: Percentage of Students Feeling Supported]
• Home emotional check-ins: 75%
• School counseling & groups: 60%

Highlight that 75% of students report feeling emotional support at home, whereas 60% report feeling it through school counseling or peer programs.

Parental Involvement vs. GPA

[Scatter Plot: Involvement Index vs. Average GPA]
• Low involvement (Index 1–3): Avg. GPA 2.7
• High involvement (Index 7–10): Avg. GPA 3.6

Describe the positive correlation between parental involvement scores (survey-based index) and average GPA. Emphasize that higher home engagement often aligns with better grades.

Key Insights

• Home support amplifies academic and emotional gains
• School programs provide essential structure and resources
• Coordinated home-school engagement maximizes student success

Summarize the data: combining efforts at home and school yields the strongest outcomes. Prepare to transition into the panel discussion.
