Activity

Trait Mapping

Welcome to the Trait Mapping activity! In this exercise, you'll create a visual map of your personality traits. This will help you understand your self-identity by organizing your strengths, areas for growth, and interests.

Instructions:

  1. Take a blank piece of paper or open a digital drawing tool.

  2. In the center, write your name or a simple symbol that represents you.

  3. Draw three branches from the center and label them: Strengths, Areas for Growth, and Interests.

  4. Under each branch, write down words or short phrases that describe you in that category. Think about past experiences, activities you enjoy, or areas where you feel confident and areas you’d like to improve.

  5. Add colors, symbols, or doodles to personalize your map and make it visually engaging.

  6. Reflect on your map: What patterns do you notice? How can your understanding of your traits help you achieve your goals?

When you're finished, we'll share what you've learned with the class. Use this visual tool as a guide for your personal growth journey!

Discussion

Aspirations and Goals Discussion

Welcome to the Aspirations and Goals discussion! In this session, we will explore how your personal traits and self-identity can shape your future dreams and aspirations. Let's dive in by discussing some guiding questions and sharing your insights with the class.

Guiding Questions

  1. Think about the traits you identified during the Trait Mapping activity. Which of these strengths do you believe will help you achieve your future goals?

  2. Reflect on one area you identified as a challenge. How might you work on this area to reach your aspirations?

  3. What is one dream or goal you have for your future? How does your understanding of who you are today influence that goal?

  4. Can you think of a role model (someone you admire) who shares similar traits with you? How do they inspire your own aspirations?

Discussion Guidelines

  • Listen carefully to your classmates' responses and consider how different traits contribute to various goals.

  • Feel free to ask follow-up questions to learn more about your classmates’ perspectives.

  • Share openly and respectfully. Remember, everyone's journey is unique, and your insights can help others reflect on their own dreams.

  • Use specific examples from your Trait Mapping and personal experiences to support your ideas.

Reflection

After the discussion, take a moment to jot down one key takeaway from today’s conversation. How can you apply what you've learned about your traits and aspirations to your daily life and future plans?

Let's begin our discussion and explore how who we are today can help shape a better tomorrow!
