Students will identify their personal interests and strengths and connect them to potential college majors or career fields using a guided worksheet, fostering self-awareness and post-secondary planning readiness.

Step 1

Introduction

5 minutes

  • Explain the purpose: to map interests, strengths, and explore post-secondary options.
  • Discuss the importance of self-awareness in college and career planning.
  • Model by brainstorming one personal interest and one strength on the board.

Step 2

20 minutes

  • Distribute the Interest & Strengths Navigator Worksheet.
  • Instruct students to complete sections on personal interests, academic/extracurricular strengths, potential majors, and career fields.
