What's the Weather? ¿Qué Tiempo Hace?
Students will be able to identify and use basic Spanish weather vocabulary (e.g., hace sol, hace frío, llueve, nieva) based on the provided song and demonstrate comprehension by answering quiz questions accurately.

Step 1
Warm-Up & Introduction (5 minutes)

- Greet students in Spanish: "¡Hola, clase!" and have them respond.
- Ask a simple question: "¿Qué tiempo hace hoy?" (What's the weather like today?). Encourage students to use gestures or single English words if they don't know the Spanish vocabulary yet.
- Introduce the day's objective: "Today, we're going to learn and practice how to talk about the weather in Spanish, and then you'll show me what you've learned!"

Weather Song & Vocabulary Introduction (15 minutes)

- Explain that music is a fun way to learn new words.
- Play the Weather Song Video for the students once, asking them to just listen for now.
- Play the song a second time, pausing after each weather phrase (e.g., "Hace sol," "Hace frío") to have students repeat the phrase. Write the phrase on the board and briefly discuss its meaning (e.g., "Hace sol means 'It's sunny'").
- Encourage students to mimic any actions or gestures from the video.
- Play the song a third time, encouraging students to sing along and do the actions.
Step 3
Vocabulary Review & Practice (10 minutes)

- Go over the vocabulary words introduced in the song (hace sol, hace calor, hace viento, hace frío, hace fresco, hay nubes, llueve, nieva) using flashcards, pictures, or by pointing to visuals on the Slide Deck.
- Lead a quick call-and-response activity: Teacher says a weather phrase, students repeat.
- Ask students "¿Qué tiempo hace?" and have them respond with a weather phrase, perhaps using a picture cue or pointing outside if applicable.
- Engage students with the Weather Vocabulary Discussion to solidify their understanding before the quiz.
