Water's Journey!

Students will be able to identify and describe the main stages of the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection) and explain why water is important to living things.

Understanding the water cycle helps students appreciate a vital natural process and recognize their responsibility in conserving and protecting water, linking science to real-world environmental care.

Introduction & Warm-Up

5 minutes

  • Begin with the Water Cycle Warm-Up to activate prior knowledge about water.
    * Facilitate a brief class share-out of responses.

Step 2

The Water Cycle Explained

10 minutes

  • Use the Water Cycle Slide Deck to introduce and explain the stages of the water cycle: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection.
    * Encourage questions and check for understanding throughout the presentation.

Step 3

Hands-On Activity: Cloud in a Jar

10 minutes

  • Distribute materials for the Water Cycle Activity.
    * Guide students through creating a 'cloud in a jar' to observe condensation and precipitation firsthand.
