Students will learn and begin to apply one new English vocabulary word daily, focusing on understanding its meaning, usage, and connection to known concepts.

Expanding vocabulary is crucial for 4th-grade dual immersion students as it directly supports reading comprehension, written expression, and overall language proficiency, bridging the gap between their native language and English.

  • Select one new, appropriate vocabulary word for the day, considering the student's current learning and curriculum.
    - Write the word on the whiteboard or chart paper.
    - Review the Daily Word Unlock Activity and prepare any necessary writing tools for the student.
    - Review the generated materials as needed.

Step 1

Introduce the Word (2 minutes)
