Turkey Tales and Crafts

Thanksgiving Turkey

In this lesson, students will engage in a collaborative activity to create a Thanksgiving turkey craft and watch a related video. Step 1

Introduction

10 mins

  • Begin with a brief discussion about Thanksgiving and its traditions.
  • Introduce the concept of a Thanksgiving turkey and its significance.
  • Explain the activity and video that will be part of the lesson.

Step 2

Video Viewing

10 mins

  • Watch the video Story: Chicken Little.
  • Discuss the themes of the video and relate them to Thanksgiving, such as sharing and community.

Step 3

Craft Activity

30 mins

  • Divide students into small groups.
  • Provide each group with materials: paper plates, colored paper, markers, glue, and scissors.
  • Instruct students to create a turkey using the materials, encouraging them to collaborate and share ideas.
  • Walk around to assist and encourage teamwork.

Step 4

Show and Tell

5 mins

  • Have each group present their turkey craft to the class.
  • Encourage students to share what they enjoyed about the activity and what they learned about teamwork.
