Our Token Victory Celebration Plan

Students will understand and participate in celebrating class-wide achievements earned through the token system, reinforcing positive behaviors and building a strong classroom community.

Celebrating successes motivates students to continue exhibiting positive behaviors and creates a supportive classroom environment where everyone feels valued. It helps students connect their positive actions to tangible rewards.

Prep

Lesson Preparation

15 minutes

Review the Yay for Our Hard Work Slides to ensure familiarity with the content and flow.
- Print copies of the Reward Choice Voting Activity worksheet for each student.
- Prepare the classroom token board and ensure tokens are ready for distribution throughout the week leading up to the celebration.
- Select 3-5 appropriate, age-level reward choices to present to the class for voting. These should be things the class can do together, like

Step 1

Warm-Up: What Are We Celebrating Today?

5 minutes

Begin the lesson by using the What Are We Celebrating Today Warm Up activity.
2. Ask students to share what they remember about earning tokens as a class. Prompt them with questions like: "Why do we earn tokens?" "What kind of behaviors help us earn tokens?"
3. Transition by stating: "Today, we get to celebrate all the amazing hard work we've done by choosing a special class reward!"

Step 2

Introducing the Celebration

5 minutes

Display Yay for Our Hard Work Slides on the smartboard/projector.
2. Go through the first few slides, enthusiastically reminding students of the behaviors that helped them earn tokens and how full their token board is.
3. Emphasize that this celebration is a result of their collective positive choices.

Step 3

Reward Choice Voting Activity

10 minutes

Distribute the Reward Choice Voting Activity worksheets to each student.
2. Explain the pre-selected reward choices clearly, using the slides as a visual aid if applicable. (e.g., "Extra Playtime," "Pajama Day," "Class Movie").
3. Guide students to mark their vote on the worksheet. Encourage them to think about what reward they would enjoy most as a class.
4. Collect the completed worksheets.

Step 4

Announcing the Reward & Closing

10 minutes

Tally the votes quickly (or have a pre-tally for speed, if preferred).
2. Announce the winning reward with excitement, using the appropriate slide from Yay for Our Hard Work Slides.
3. Discuss when the class will enjoy their chosen reward.
4. End by praising students for their hard work and positive behavior, reinforcing the connection between their actions and positive outcomes. "You all worked so hard together, and now we get to enjoy this amazing reward! Great job, team!"
