The Art of Sharing

Encourage teamwork and creativity

In this lesson, students will create a collaborative art project, taking turns with materials and sharing ideas. This activity encourages teamwork, enhances creativity, and develops social skills. Large sheet of paper, Crayons and markers, Glue, Scissors, Collage materials (like magazines, fabric pieces, etc.), and Printable Sharing Cards

Step 1

Introduction

2 mins

  • Gather students in a circle and show them the materials laid out for the art project.
  • Explain that they will be working together to create one big art piece by sharing materials and ideas.
  • Emphasize the importance of taking turns and listening to each other.

Step 2

Collaborative Art Creation

10 mins

  • Divide the students into small groups of 3-4.
  • Give each group a section of the large sheet of paper.
  • Encourage them to discuss and share ideas about what they want to create.
  • Remind them to take turns using the materials and to help one another.
  • Circulate around the room to provide support and gentle reminders about sharing.

Step 3

Reflection Discussion

  • Gather students back into a circle around the completed art project.
  • Ask them to share one thing they liked about working together and one thing they learned about sharing.
  • Praise them for their teamwork and creativity.
