In this lesson, students will explore mindfulness through artistic expression, learning techniques to ground themselves and manage stress through art. This creative approach helps them connect deeply with their emotions and enhances their focus. By engaging in this lesson, students will gain valuable skills in emotional regulation and stress management, which are crucial for their overall well-being and academic success.

Step 1

Introduction to Mindfulness

5 minutes

  • Begin with a brief explanation of mindfulness and its benefits.
  • Discuss how mindfulness can be practiced through art.
  • Encourage students to think about how they currently manage stress.

Step 2

Art Activity: Mindful Drawing

20 minutes

  • Provide each student with paper and art supplies.
  • Instruct students to focus on their breathing and let their thoughts flow onto the paper through drawing.
  • Encourage them to express their current emotions or thoughts without judgment.
  • Play calming background music to enhance the mindfulness experience.

Group Discussion

10 minutes
