Slide Deck

Welcome, Cooperation Crew!

What does teamwork mean to YOU?

Welcome students and introduce the lesson's title. Ask them what comes to mind when they hear the word 'teamwork'. Write down some of their ideas on the board.

Our Mission: Cooperation!

We're building our skills to become an amazing Cooperation Crew!

Our Goal: To work together, help each other, and create a strong classroom community.

Explain the objective of the lesson: to learn how to work together better. Introduce the idea of becoming a 'Cooperation Crew' – a group that works together effectively and supports each other.

The Teamwork Pledge

I promise to:

  • Listen to my teammates' ideas.
  • Share my own thoughts and help.
  • Respect everyone's contributions.
  • Encourage others when it's tough.
  • Work together to reach our goals!

Introduce the 'Teamwork Pledge'. Read it aloud first, then have students read it with you. Discuss what each line means.

Time for a Cooperation Challenge!

Get ready to put your teamwork skills to the test!

Remember our pledge as you work together.

Briefly introduce the upcoming activity. Emphasize that the goal isn't just to finish, but how they work together. Explain that they will be practicing the pledge.

Reflect & Grow: What Did We Learn?

Let's talk about our experience:

  • What went well in your group?
  • What was challenging?
  • How did you use the Teamwork Pledge?
  • Why is teamwork important?

After the activity, use this slide to guide the reflection. Ask open-ended questions about their experience. Encourage honest sharing and positive feedback.

You Are the Cooperation Crew!

Every one of you makes our classroom a stronger, kinder, and more successful place.

Keep building those teamwork muscles!

Conclude by reinforcing the value of teamwork and reminding them they are all part of the classroom's 'Cooperation Crew'. Thank them for their hard work.

Discussion

Reflection Discussion: Our Cooperation Crew

After completing the Cooperation Challenge, let's reflect on our experiences and what we learned about working together.

Discussion Questions:

  1. What was one thing your group did really well during the Cooperation Challenge?

  2. What was one challenge your group faced? How did you try to overcome it?

  3. Think about our Teamwork Pledge. Which part of the pledge did your group use the most? Why?

  4. How did listening to each other's ideas help your team? What happened if someone didn't listen?

  5. Why is it important for everyone to share responsibilities in a group? What happens if only one person does all the work?

  6. How did valuing different ideas (even if they were different from your own) help your group?

  7. Can you think of a time outside of school (at home, with friends, in sports) where teamwork was really important? Share your experience.

  8. What is one new thing you learned about teamwork today that you want to remember for next time?

  9. How can we continue to be a great "Cooperation Crew" in our classroom every day?
