Super Self-Manager!

What does it mean to be a Super Self-Manager?

Engage students by asking what they think a 'Super Self-Manager' is. Encourage various answers and connect them to classroom behavior.

Skill 1: Stay on Task!

Keeping your eyes on your work and your brain focused on what we're learning.

Explain that staying on task means focusing on the current activity, like reading a book during reading time or drawing during art. Ask for examples of staying on task.

Skill 2: Listen Respectfully!

Giving your ears to the speaker and showing with your body that you're paying attention.

Discuss what listening respectfully looks and sounds like: quiet mouths, looking at the speaker, whole body listening. Ask students how it feels when someone listens to them.

Skill 3: Focus on My Behavior!

Thinking about my own choices and how I can be the best me.

Emphasize that we can only control our own actions. Ask students why it's important to focus on their own behavior instead of others'.

Practice Time!

Let's sort some choices!
