Storytelling with Values

Identify and apply personal values

In this lesson, students will explore values that are important to them and create short stories where these values guide the characters' decisions. This exercise encourages self-reflection and enhances moral reasoning, helping students understand the impact of values on decision-making and behavior.

Step 1

Introduction

5 minutes

Begin with a brief discussion on what values are and why they are important.

Identifying Personal Values

10 minutes

Distribute post-it notes and pens to each student.
Ask students to write down 3-5 values that are important to them.
Encourage them to think about why these values matter.

Step 3

Creating Short Stories

15 minutes

Hand out the "Values and Storytelling" worksheet.
Instruct students to create a short story where their chosen values guide the characters' decisions.
Allow students to work individually or in pairs.

Sharing and Discussion

5 minutes

Invite students to share their stories with the class.
