- Discuss the basic components of a storyboard: scenes, actions, dialogue, and timing.
Step 2
Brainstorming Ideas
10 mins
- Ask students to think about their favorite Netflix shows and select one they would like to create a short film or episode about.
- Allow students a few minutes to brainstorm their ideas and jot down key points or scenes they want to include.
- Encourage students to discuss their ideas in pairs or small groups to refine their concepts.
Step 3
Creating the Storyboard
30 mins
- Hand out the storyboard templates and provide drawing materials (pencils, markers, erasers, etc.).
- Guide students through the process of sketching out their storyboards:
- Start with a title and a brief description of their story.
- Draw the main scenes in sequence, adding notes for actions, dialogue, and timing.
- Encourage creativity but remind them to keep their sketches simple and focused on the main points.
- Circulate the classroom to offer assistance and feedback as students work on their storyboards.
Step 4
Sharing and Discussion
10 mins
- Invite students to share their storyboards with the class.
- Facilitate a discussion on different approaches students took and what they found challenging or enjoyable about the process.
- Ask students how planning out their ideas in a storyboard format helped them visualize their stories better.
- Summarize the key points learned during the lesson.
- Encourage students to take their storyboards home and continue refining or expanding them if they wish.
- Thank the students for their participation and creativity.
