Step 1
Introduction
5 minutes
- Gather students in a circle.
- Briefly introduce the concept of emotions.
- Explain the objective: to understand and identify different emotions through a story.
Step 2
Story Reading
10 minutes
- Read the selected storybook aloud to the students.
- Emphasize parts of the story that show clear emotions.
- Encourage students to pay attention to how the characters are feeling.
Step 3
Discussion
7 minutes
- Use the Emotions Discussion Guide to discuss the story.
- Ask questions that prompt students to identify and describe the emotions of the characters.
- Relate the emotions to situations in the students' own lives.
Step 4
Drawing Activity
7 minutes
- Distribute the Emotions Drawing Worksheet and markers or crayons.
- Ask students to draw a picture of themselves feeling one of the emotions discussed.
- Allow students to share their drawings with the class if they feel comfortable.
- Recap the emotions discussed in the story.
- Remind students that it's okay to feel different emotions and share them with others.
- Praise students for their participation and creativity.
