Stay Fresh!

Welcome to our lesson on personal hygiene! Today we’ll learn why bathing and clean clothes help us stay healthy and feel great.

Welcome students! Introduce today’s topic: personal hygiene. Explain that “Stay Fresh!” means keeping our body and clothes clean. Use bright visuals of smiling kids.

What Is Hygiene?

Hygiene means keeping our body and clothes clean to stay healthy and happy.

Ask: “Has anyone ever felt itchy or smelly after playing outside all day?” Define hygiene. Show simple icons for bathing, handwashing, clean clothes.

Why Is Hygiene Important?

• Keeps germs away
• Helps prevent sickness
• Makes us feel fresh and confident

Discuss germ spread. Ask children why they think being clean matters. Emphasize health and confidence.

Daily Bathing

Take a bath or shower each day:

  1. Wet with warm water
  2. Use soap to wash all over
  3. Rinse and dry well

Walk through a daily bath routine: wet, soap, rinse, dry. Invite a volunteer to “pretend” wash hands at desk.

Clean Clothes

Put on clean clothes every day:
• Helps stop germs
• Keeps skin healthy
• Feels comfortable

Show pictures of dirty vs. clean clothes. Ask: “How do you feel when you wear fresh clothes?”

Quick Quiz!

True or False:
“You should wear the same shirt all week.”

Read the quiz aloud. Let students vote thumbs up for True or thumbs down for False. Reveal the answer.

Let’s Try It!

Complete the Daily Clean Fill-In worksheet, then come back for our Freshness Pledge!

Transition to independent work. Explain the worksheet and pledge activity.

Freshness Pledge

We have learned how important it is to keep our bodies and clothes clean every day. Now it’s time to make our Freshness Pledge together!

How It Works:

  1. Each student will stand up, tell the class one hygiene habit they promise to do every day (for example: “I will wash my hands before I eat!”).
  2. After you share, write your name and your promise on our Class Pledge Chart.
  3. Place a sticker or draw your initials next to your entry to show you’re committed!
