Students will brainstorm creative ideas, draw their chosen concepts, and share positive feedback to practice self-expression and build confidence.
This lesson fosters self-expression, problem-solving, and confidence as students see their ideas valued and learn to encourage peers.

Prep
Teacher Preparation
10 minutes
- Print enough copies of Idea Brainstorm Worksheet for each student
- Gather Drawing Paper, Pencils, and Colored Markers or Crayons
- Review the lesson flow and key talking points on creativity
- Welcome students and briefly introduce creativity as generating new ideas
- Ask: “What does creativity mean to you?” and list responses on the board
- Encourage one or two quick examples of creative acts (e.g., drawing, storytelling)
Step 2
Brainstorming Activity
10 minutes
- Distribute Idea Brainstorm Worksheet
- Prompt students to list three creative ideas (e.g., a new gadget, imaginary animal, or fun game)
- Circulate and encourage unique and out-of-the-box thinking
Step 3
Drawing Activity
10 minutes
- Provide Drawing Paper and Colored Markers or Crayons
- Instruct students to choose one idea from their worksheet and create a detailed drawing
- Remind them they can add labels or short descriptions to explain their creation
Step 4
Peer Feedback
3 minutes
- Pair students up and have them share their drawings
- Teach them to give one specific compliment (e.g., “I like how you used bright colors!”)
- Encourage active listening and positive language

Cool-Down & Reflection
2 minutes
- Invite a few volunteers to share one thing they’re proud of in their drawing
- Ask: “How did it feel to receive positive feedback?”
- Reinforce that every idea has value and celebrating each other’s creativity builds confidence
