SMART Goals in Action

Set and track a SMART goal

In this lesson, students will engage in a project-based activity where they set a SMART goal related to a community issue, plan actions, and track their progress over several weeks. This lesson is important as it helps students develop goal-setting skills, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility towards their community. Step 1

Introduction to SMART Goals

  • Provide examples of SMART goals and non-SMART goals.
  • Distribute the SMART Goals Worksheet.

Setting a SMART Goal

  • Have students think about a community issue they care about.
  • Guide them to set a SMART goal related to this issue using the worksheet.
  • Encourage students to share their goals with a partner for feedback.

Step 3

Planning Actions
