Self-Management Success

Motivate boys academically

This lesson plan is designed for a small group of boys to enhance their self-management skills and motivate them academically. Over six weeks, students will engage in experiential and active learning activities that promote self-awareness, goal setting, and personal responsibility. This lesson is important as it helps students develop essential life skills that contribute to academic success and personal growth.

Step 1

Introduction

10 mins

  • Distribute worksheets for self-reflection.
  • Ask students to think about their current academic habits and write down areas they want to improve.
  • Encourage sharing in pairs to foster peer support.

Step 3

Activity 2: Goal Setting

10 mins

  • Provide post-it notes and pens.
  • Guide students to set one academic goal for the week.
  • Discuss strategies to achieve these goals and write them on the post-it notes.

Closure

  • Recap the session's activities and key takeaways.
  • Encourage students to keep their post-it notes visible as reminders.
  • Announce the topic for the next session and express enthusiasm for their progress.
