Self-Care Superpowers: Recharge Your Inner Hero

What do you think a superpower is?

Did you know you have a superpower to feel good?

Greet students and start with a brief discussion about superpowers. Transition to the idea of self-care as a personal superpower.

What is Self-Care?

Self-care means taking time to do things that make you feel happy and healthy!

It's like recharging your batteries!

Explain self-care in simple terms. It's about taking care of yourself to be happy and healthy.

Types of Self-Care

We can take care of our:

  • Mind (how we think and learn)
  • Body (how we move and eat)
  • Heart (how we feel emotions)

Introduce the three categories of self-care: Mind, Body, Heart. Give simple examples for each.

Self-Care Examples

Mind: Reading a book, drawing, doing a puzzle

Body: Playing outside, eating healthy snacks, getting enough sleep

Heart: Hugging a pet, talking to a friend, listening to music

Provide concrete examples for each category. Ask students if they can think of other examples.

Your Self-Care Superpowers!

What are your special ways to recharge?

Let's find your unique self-care superpowers!

Time to Share!

Who wants to share a self-care superpower they discovered?

Why is it important to have these superpowers?

Facilitate a short discussion about what students wrote on their activity sheets. Encourage sharing.

Self-Care Bingo Challenge!

Let's play a game to explore more self-care ideas!

Who can get a BINGO?

Explain the Self-Care Bingo Game. Emphasize that it's about trying different ways to care for themselves.

You're a Self-Care Hero!

Remember, taking care of yourself helps you shine bright!

Keep practicing your self-care superpowers!

Conclude by reiterating the importance of self-care. Hand out the journal page as an optional take-home activity.
