Defining Self-Care
Self-care is any intentional activity you do to take care of your mental, emotional, and physical health. It’s an ongoing practice that helps you manage stress, build resilience, and stay balanced.
Engage students in building a working definition.
• Ask: “What comes to mind when you hear ‘self-care’?”
• Capture a few responses on the board.
• Then share this definition.
Examples of Self-Care Strategies
Physical: Exercise, adequate sleep, healthy meals
Emotional: Journaling, deep breathing, art therapy
Social: Talking with friends, joining a club, family game night
Spiritual: Meditation, nature walks, mindfulness practices
