Seasonal Reflection Art

Express emotions through art

In this lesson, students will create collage artworks that represent their feelings about the current season using elements from nature and recycled materials. This activity encourages creativity and personal reflection, allowing students to express their emotions through art. It helps develop fine motor skills, artistic expression, and emotional awareness.

Materials

Natural elements (leaves, twigs, etc.), Recycled materials (magazines, newspapers), Glue, Scissors, Paper or cardboard base, Markers or crayons, and Discussion Questions

Step 1

Introduction

5 minutes

  • Briefly discuss the current season and its characteristics.
  • Ask students how the season makes them feel and what colors or images they associate with it.
  • Explain that they will create a collage to express their feelings about the season.

Step 2

Art Creation

20 minutes

  • Distribute materials to each student.
  • Instruct students to select natural elements and recycled materials that represent their feelings about the season.
  • Guide them to arrange and glue these materials onto their paper or cardboard base.
  • Encourage them to use markers or crayons to add details or enhance their artwork.

Step 3

Reflection and Sharing

5 minutes

  • Invite students to share their artwork with the class.
  • Use the Discussion Questions to prompt reflection on their artistic choices and feelings about the season.
  • Encourage students to appreciate the diversity of expressions and interpretations.
