Safety Superheroes
To learn about personal safety
In this lesson, Pre-K students will learn about personal safety through engaging activities and discussions. The lesson will help students understand the importance of staying safe and recognizing safe and unsafe situations. By using trauma-informed teaching, blended learning, and active learning strategies, students will be encouraged to participate actively and feel supported in their learning environment.

Safety Scenario Cards, Markers, and Large Paper Sheets
Step 1
Introduction
5 minutes
- Gather students in a circle and introduce the topic of personal safety.
- Ask students if they know what it means to be safe.
- Explain that today they will learn how to be 'Safety Superheroes' by recognizing safe and unsafe situations.
Step 2
Safety Scenario Activity
15 minutes
- Divide students into small groups and provide each group with Safety Scenario Cards.
- Ask each group to discuss the scenario on their card and decide if it is safe or unsafe.
- Provide large paper sheets and markers for groups to draw their scenario and their superhero response.
- Encourage groups to share their drawings and explain their superhero actions to the class.
Step 3
Reflection and Closure
5 minutes
- Gather students back in a circle.
- Ask students to share one thing they learned about being safe.
- Reinforce the idea that they are all 'Safety Superheroes' and can help keep themselves and others safe.
