Safety Superhero

Welcome! Today you’re the Safety Superhero. Let’s learn how to keep our classroom safe.

Welcome the student as today’s Safety Superhero. Say: “We’re going to learn three classroom safety rules to keep everyone safe.”

Classroom Safety Rules

  • Walk, don’t run
  • Keep hands to yourself
  • Listen to the teacher

Show each rule card. Discuss why we walk, keep hands to ourselves, and listen to the teacher.

Scenario 1: Walking Safely

Use props to practice walking around chairs without running.

Demonstrate walking carefully around chairs using a chair prop. Invite the student to try.

Scenario 2: Keep Hands to Yourself

Practice sitting and keeping your hands to yourself.

Show how to sit quietly with hands in lap. Prompt the student to practice keeping hands to themselves.

Scenario 3: Listen to the Teacher

Follow my instructions promptly and carefully.

Give a simple instruction (e.g., “Touch your nose”). Emphasize listening and following directions.

Reflection Time

  1. Draw yourself following a safety rule.
  2. Circle the most important rule and explain why.

Hand over the reflection worksheet. Ask the student to draw and circle as directed, then discuss their choices.

You’re a Safety Superhero!

Congratulations! You’ve learned how to keep our classroom safe.

Review the three rules aloud. Praise the student’s work and award them a verbal Safety Superhero certificate.
