Lesson Plan

S.T.O.P. Strategy Plan

Students will learn the four steps of the S.T.O.P. self-calming strategy (Stop, Take a breath, Observe, Proceed) and practice applying it in real-life classroom scenarios to build mindfulness and emotional regulation.

Teaching S.T.O.P. equips 3rd graders with a simple, memorable tool to manage big feelings, reduce impulsive reactions, and foster self-management—key skills for academic success and well-being.
