Understanding and addressing bullying

This lesson focuses on understanding and addressing bullying through a trauma-informed approach, using video-based learning and interactive activities.   • Briefly discuss what bullying is and why it's important to address it.

  • Watch the video How to Stop A Bully together.
  • Pause at key moments to discuss strategies for handling bullying situations.

Interactive Activity

  • Use the Printable Cards: Respectful Actions to play a quick matching game.
  • Have the students match actions with their corresponding responsible behavior descriptions.
  • Discuss each match and why it's important.

Kind Words Role-Play

  • Divide students into small groups and provide each group with a scenario card.
  • Have students role-play the scenario, focusing on using kind words and handling bullying situations.
  • After each role-play, discuss as a class how using kind words and the strategies from the video affected the interaction.
