Reflect on past achievements

This lesson invites students to engage in reflective journaling, focusing on their achievements and lessons learned over the past year. It encourages setting intentions for the coming year, fostering a mindset of growth and hope. This exercise helps students develop self-awareness and goal-setting skills, which are crucial for personal and academic growth.

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Welcome students and explain the purpose of the session: to reflect on the past year and set intentions for the future.
  • Discuss the importance of reflection in personal growth and learning from experiences.

Step 2

Journaling Activity

15 mins

  • Distribute journals or paper and pens to each student.
  • Prompt students to write about their achievements and lessons learned over the past year.
  • Encourage them to think about what they are proud of and what they would like to improve.
  • Ask them to set one or two intentions for the coming year.

Step 3

Closing Discussion

10 mins

  • Invite students to share their reflections and intentions with the class, if they feel comfortable.
  • Use the Reflection Discussion Questions to guide the conversation.
  • Encourage students to support each other and offer positive feedback.
