Slide Deck

Ready, Set, Go!

A 1-minute warm-up to kickstart your thinking and practice rapid task initiation.

Welcome everyone! Explain that today’s quick warm-up will help us practice starting tasks fast. Tell students they will choose and order three mini-tasks in one minute to get their brains ready for learning.

How It Works

• Step 1: Choose three mini-tasks from the list
• Step 2: Put them in the order you prefer
• Step 3: Complete the sequence in under one minute

Read each step aloud, pausing briefly after each to make sure students understand. Invite questions if anything is unclear.

Example Sequence

  1. Draw a star
  2. Name three colors
  3. Solve a riddle

Model your thinking aloud: “I see ‘Draw a star,’ ‘Name three colors,’ ‘Solve a riddle.’ I’ll pick those three and order them as shown. Ready, set, go!”

Ready to Go?

You have 1 minute!
Ready… Set… Go!

Get everyone ready and start the one-minute timer. Encourage students: “You’ve got this! Let’s see how fast you can go!”

Script

Launch Prompt Script

This script guides the teacher through modeling the Ready, Set, Go! warm-up.

Teacher (holding activity card list): “Okay, friends, let’s look at our mini-task options. I see ‘Draw a star,’ ‘Solve a riddle,’ and ‘Name three colors.’”

Teacher (thinking aloud): “First, I’m going to pick ‘Draw a star’ because I like drawing. Next, I’ll choose ‘Name three colors’ to keep it quick. Then I’ll finish with ‘Solve a riddle’ for a fun brain challenge.”

Teacher (writing or tapping choices): “See how I wrote down ‘Draw a star,’ ‘Name three colors,’ and ‘Solve a riddle’ in that order? Now I’m ready.”

Teacher (energized): “Here we go—ready, set, go!”

(Start the one-minute timer.)
