Create a quiet circle time

This lesson plan is designed to create a peaceful and engaging circle time for young children, using restorative practices, blended learning, and experiential learning strategies. The aim is to help children develop listening skills, patience, and a sense of community in a calm environment. Step 1

Introduction

Gather the children in a circle on a soft mat or carpet.
Play calming music softly in the background.
Explain that this is a special quiet time where we will listen and share.

Step 2

Guided Breathing

2 mins

Lead the children in a simple breathing exercise: "Breathe in slowly through your nose, hold it, and breathe out through your mouth."
Repeat this a few times to help them relax.

Discussion

4 mins

Use the provided discussion questions to guide a calm conversation.
Encourage each child to share their thoughts quietly and listen to others.
