Pumpkin Seed Mosaics

In this lesson, students will create mosaic art pieces using pumpkin seeds. Step 1

Introduction to Mosaics

10 mins

Briefly explain what mosaics are and show examples of mosaic art.
Discuss how mosaics are made up of small pieces that come together to form a larger picture.
Explain the objective of creating a mosaic with pumpkin seeds.

Step 2

Planning the Design

10 mins

Distribute paper or cardstock to each student.
Have students sketch a simple design or pattern on their paper using a pencil.
Encourage them to think about the colors they want to use for different parts of their design.

Step 3

Coloring the Pumpkin Seeds

Provide colored markers or paint.
Demonstrate how to color the pumpkin seeds.
Allow students to begin coloring their seeds based on their design plans.

Creating the Mosaic

Once the seeds are colored, students can start gluing the seeds onto their paper designs.
