Problem-Solving Pals

Learn to solve problems independently

In this lesson, students will learn how to solve problems amongst themselves without needing adult support. Through a discussion and a game-based activity, students will practice identifying problems, brainstorming solutions, and working together to resolve conflicts. This lesson is important as it helps students develop critical social-emotional skills that are essential for their personal and academic growth.

Step 1

Introduction

5 minutes

10 minutes

  • Use the provided discussion questions to guide a conversation about problem-solving.
  • Encourage students to share their thoughts and experiences with solving problems.
  • Discuss different strategies they can use to solve problems.

Step 3

Activity: Problem-Solving Scenarios

15 minutes

  • Divide the students into pairs.
  • Give each pair a problem-solving scenario card.
  • Instruct the pairs to discuss the scenario and come up with a solution together.
  • Provide markers and paper for them to draw or write their solutions.
  • After 10 minutes, have each pair share their scenario and solution with the class.
