Students will use a hands-on cut-and-paste activity and a visual reflection worksheet to express personal preferences and share summer experiences, fostering community and easing first-day anxiety.

Non-verbal students can communicate through images, allowing them to share about themselves and their summer without writing. This builds rapport, helps the teacher learn student preferences, and creates a welcoming classroom culture.
