Developing perspective taking

This lesson plan is designed to help third-grade students develop perspective-taking skills through engaging activities, discussions, and multimedia resources. Over 15 sessions, students will explore the concept of empathy and respect, learning to understand and appreciate different viewpoints. Step 1

  • Session 5: Art and Expression activity to create a Group Mural representing different perspectives using various mediums like clay or collage.

  • Session 8: Conduct Empathy Interviews with guided questions such as "What does respect mean to you?" and present findings creatively.
  • Session 9: Storytelling and Sharing personal stories of perspective-taking.
