Slide Deck

Peaceful Problem Solvers

Today we will learn a 3-step process to fix arguments and keep our classroom happy.

Welcome students! Introduce our lesson on solving disagreements peacefully. Explain that we will learn three simple steps to help us be Peaceful Problem Solvers.

Our 3 Steps

• Identify Feelings
• Listen Actively
• Find Win-Win Solutions

Show the Conflict Resolution Steps Poster as you explain each step briefly.

Step 1: Identify Feelings

Look at each face.
What feeling do you see?
When have you felt this way?

Display the Feelings Flashcards. Invite volunteers to name each feeling and tell when they felt it.

Step 2: Listen Actively

Use your body and words to show you care:
• Eye contact
• Nod your head
• Say: “I hear you feel ___ because ___.”

Model active listening with a volunteer. Emphasize eye contact, nodding, and paraphrasing.

Step 3: Find Win-Win Solutions

A win-win solution helps everyone!
Example: If you both want the same toy,
share turns so everyone wins.

Explain what makes a solution win-win. Give an example (sharing a toy) and ask for student ideas.

Partner Role-Play

  1. Pick a scenario card.
  2. Practice Step 1–3 for 2 minutes.
  3. Switch roles and repeat.

Hand out the Conflict Scenario Cards and set a timer. Circulate and praise good use of the three steps.

Reflection & Closure

• What win-win solution did your pair find?
• How did listening help solve the conflict?

Bring the class back together. Ask volunteers to share their win-win solutions and highlight good listening and feeling words.

Great Job!

You are now Peaceful Problem Solvers!
Use these steps to keep our class caring and kind.

Congratulate students on their hard work and remind them to use these steps whenever conflicts happen.
