Community Circle Guidelines

These guidelines will help our community circle run smoothly and ensure that everyone has a chance to share their ideas about community roles and responsibilities.

Guidelines for Discussion:

  1. Listen Carefully: When someone is speaking, listen without interrupting. Respect each person’s turn to talk.

  2. Share Kindly: Speak clearly and share your thoughts. Remember to include everyone in the conversation.

  3. Be Respectful: Even if we have different ideas, we respect each other’s opinions. It's okay to disagree, but do so kindly.

  4. Stay on Topic: Keep your ideas focused on what makes our community special and how each person can help.

  5. Ask Questions: If you don't understand something, feel free to ask. Our circle is a safe space for learning.

Tips for Teachers:

  • Gather the students in a circle to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Use simple, clear language suitable for 2nd-grade students.
  • Encourage shy students by gently inviting them to share their thoughts.
  • Praise efforts and good listening to build confidence and mutual respect among students.

Use these guidelines to remind students of the expectations and to facilitate a positive, respectful dialogue. Have a wonderful community circle session!
