New Year Goals

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Greet the students and wish them a Happy New Year.
  • Briefly discuss what New Year's resolutions are and why people make them.
  • Explain that today they will set their own goals for the New Year.

Step 2

Goal-Setting Activity

15 mins

  • Distribute post-it notes and markers to each student.
  • Ask students to think about one goal they want to achieve this year.
  • Encourage them to write or draw their goal on the post-it note.
  • Have students share their goals with a partner, discussing why they chose that goal and how they plan to achieve it.
  • Collect the post-it notes and display them on a whiteboard for everyone to see.
  • Introduce the 'Class Goal Tree' on a bulletin board where each leaf represents a student's goal.
  • As students achieve their goals, they can add a fruit or flower to the tree, symbolizing growth and success.
