Set personal and academic goals

This lesson helps students reflect on past achievements and set thoughtful, achievable goals for the upcoming months. By fostering a forward-thinking mindset, students will learn to plan and work towards their personal and academic aspirations, which is crucial for their development and success.

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Welcome students and explain the importance of setting goals for personal and academic growth.
  • Briefly discuss how reflecting on past achievements can help in setting future goals.

Step 2

Reflection Activity

10 mins

  • Distribute post-it notes and pens to each student.
  • Ask students to write down one achievement from the past year they are proud of.
  • Invite a few students to share their achievements with the class.

Goal Setting Exercise

10 mins

  • Hand out the "Goal Setting Worksheet" to each student.
  • Guide students to think about and write down one personal and one academic goal for the upcoming months.
