Welcome, amazing artist! You've learned so much about the Zones of Regulation and how to keep your emotions in check. Now it's time to show off your creativity!

This is your canvas to explore the Zones and your awesome coping strategies through drawing and coloring. Get ready to make some Zone-tastic art!


Part 1: My Zone Palette

Draw a picture that represents each Zone of Regulation. You can draw a face, a symbol, or even a mini-scene! Make sure to use the correct color for each zone (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red).

  • When students complete their main safety plan activity, introduce the 'My Zone-tastic Art Adventure!' as a fun, creative option.
  • Explain that this activity will allow them to draw and color their understanding of the Zones of Regulation and their coping strategies.
  • Distribute the My Zone-tastic Art Adventure Activity and art supplies to early finishers.

Step 2

Creative Exploration

  • Students will work individually on the My Zone-tastic Art Adventure Activity.
  • Encourage them to be creative in how they represent each Zone and their chosen coping strategy.
  • Remind them to use the appropriate colors for each Zone.
  • Circulate to offer support and encouragement, and to prompt deeper thinking about their chosen strategies.
