Understanding Emotions

Emotions are feelings that help us understand ourselves and our experiences. They can be happy, sad, excited, or even a little bit nervous.

Explain what emotions are in a simple way. Encourage the student to think about the various feelings they experience and how each one is valid.

What is an Emotional Superpower?

An emotional superpower is a unique strength inside you that helps you handle feelings and challenges. It could be kindness, courage, empathy, or another special quality!

Define 'emotional superpower' in a relatable manner. Ask the student to think of a quality or strength they think they have that helps them with challenges.

Examples of Emotional Superpowers

Examples include:

  • Empathy: Understanding how others feel.

In this activity, you'll take some time to explore and identify your unique emotional strengths - your very own superpower! Here’s how we'll guide you:

Instructions

  1. Reflect on Your Emotions:
    Think about times when you felt proud and capable. What emotion was most present? Was it determination, kindness, or maybe courage?





  2. Answer the Questions:

    • What does "emotional superpower" mean to you?

    • Can you think of an example where you showed strength in handling a tough situation?





  3. Visualize Your Superpower:
    Imagine your superpower as a bright, special light that helps you overcome challenges. What color is it? What shape does it have?





  4. Write It Down:
    Write down your thoughts, feelings, and the qualities that stand out as your superpower. Try to use a drawing or words, whatever helps you capture the idea best.
