  • Duration: 15 minutes (with stations of approximately 5 minutes each).
  • Group Size: Whole class with small-group work at one station.

Activity Stations

1. Goal-Setting Station

Materials:

Instructions:

  • Ask students to sit at the station and use the worksheet to draw or write down a goal they want to achieve today.
  • Encourage them to think of simple, fun goals like drawing a picture, listening carefully during story time, or learning a new song.
  • Walk around to provide supportive comments and ask guiding questions if needed.

2. Group Brainstorm Station

Purpose: Foster teamwork by having students share ideas and inspire one another to think of creative goals.

Materials:

  • Large paper or whiteboard for group brainstorming
  • Markers

Instructions:

  • Divide students into small groups.
  • Provide each group with a prompt: "What makes you excited to learn?" Encourage them to share individual ideas for personal goals.
  • Write down their ideas on a shared paper or board.
  • Emphasize that every idea is valuable and that group brainstorming leads to even more creative goals.

3. Motivation Game Station

Purpose: Use a game-based activity to remind students about the power of motivation and teamwork in achieving goals.

  • Use the game as a way to emphasize that support from friends and working together can make reaching goals more fun and easier.

Implementation Tips

  • Timing: Allow each station to run for about 5 minutes. Be flexible; if students are highly engaged, you might extend one station slightly while shortening another.
  • Transitions: Signal transitions between stations with a clear signal (e.g., a fun chime or a simple countdown) to keep the flow smooth.
  • Encouragement: Regularly walk around, provide positive feedback and ask questions to keep students engaged.
  • Adaptation: Be ready to adjust the activity based on students' responses and energy levels. The goal is fun and inspiration, so maintain a flexible approach.

Closure

After students complete all stations, gather them for the Cool Down: Reflection and Sharing section of the lesson. Use this time to discuss what they learned about motivation and celebrating their personal goals. Ask open-ended questions such as:

  • "What was your favorite part at the stations today?"
  • "How did it feel to work on your goal?"
  • "What did you learn about what makes you excited to learn?"

Game

Motivation Magic Game Instructions

Game Overview

Get ready for a fun and energizing game that celebrates teamwork and motivation! In this game, students will work together and cheer each other on as they complete a fun challenge. The goal is to remind everyone that working together makes reaching our personal goals even more exciting.

Game Name: Motivation Relay

How to Play

  1. Form Teams:

    • Divide the class into small teams (about 4-5 students per team).
    • Each team should have a designated cheerleader who helps encourage team members throughout the game.
  2. Set Up the Relay Course:

    • Create a simple relay course using cones or markers in the classroom or outdoor area.
    • The course can have stations such as hopping, balancing a beanbag, or skipping.
  3. Game Rules:

    • One student at a time from each team runs the relay course.
    • When the first team member finishes, they pass a 'motivation baton' (this can be a fun, small object) to the next team member.
    • The baton represents the shared energy of motivation and teamwork.
    • Each student must complete the course before passing the baton.
    • The team that completes the course first wins a round.
  4. Cheering and Encouragement:

    • While teammates are waiting, other students should cheer them on using positive phrases like, "You can do it!" or "Keep going!"
    • After each round, briefly discuss how teamwork helped everyone succeed.

Game Objectives

  • Teamwork: Emphasize that everyone works together to reach a common goal.
  • Motivation: Reinforce the idea that supporting each other helps us overcome challenges.
  • Fun: Create a lively atmosphere where learning, movement, and motivation are celebrated.

Implementation Tips

  • Make sure the play area is safe and free of obstacles.
  • Modify the relay tasks based on the physical abilities of the students.
  • Use a timer to add gentle excitement, but keep the focus on fun rather than speed.
  • Rotate the teams if time allows so that everyone gets a chance to participate.

Enjoy the Motivation Relay and remember: every step you take towards your goal is a victory when you work as a team!
