The Mood Meter helps us understand our emotions by dividing them into four quadrants:

Mood Meter Interactive Activity

Objective

Engage students in identifying and articulating their current emotions by placing themselves on the Mood Meter. This activity encourages movement, discussion, and self-reflection.

Materials Needed

  • Large Mood Meter chart (can be drawn on a whiteboard or printed and placed on the floor)
  • Sticky notes or small pieces of paper
  • Markers or pens

Instructions

  1. Introduction (5 minutes):

    • Briefly recap the concept of the Mood Meter using the slide deck.
    • Explain that students will now participate in an activity to explore their current emotions.
  2. Activity Setup (5 minutes):

    • Display the large Mood Meter chart in a visible area of the classroom.
    • Provide each student with a sticky note and a marker.
  3. Placing on the Mood Meter (10 minutes):

    • Ask students to think about how they are feeling at the moment.
