Reading

Mood and Tone Reading

A short passage for students to read and analyze for mood and tone.

The old house stood at the end of the street, its windows dark and its paint peeling. The wind howled through the broken shutters, and the trees around it seemed to whisper secrets. Despite the bright afternoon sun, a chill ran down my spine as I approached. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched.
