This guide includes simple, open-ended questions to support a brief group discussion on mindfulness. The objective is to help you reflect on your experiences and feelings during the mindfulness practice. Use these questions as a starting point for discussion, while sharing your thoughts in a respectful and supportive environment.

Discussion Questions

  1. How did you feel during the mindfulness practice?

Think about whether you felt calm, relaxed, or if you noticed any changes in your body.

  2. Which part of the exercise did you find the easiest or enjoy the most?

This could be the breathing exercise or the body scan – share what you liked best.

  3. Did you notice moments when your mind wandered? How did you bring your focus back?

It’s normal for thoughts to come and go. Talk about how you regained your focus.

  4. Can you share something you learned about yourself today?

Maybe you discovered a new way to relax or observed something positive about your body or mind.

  5. How do you think you can use mindfulness techniques when you feel stressed at school?

Imagine a situation where you need to calm down quickly. Which technique would you use?

Points for Continuing the Discussion

  • Discuss the importance of taking time for yourself while practicing mindfulness.

  • Encourage sharing different techniques that work best for each person.

  • Reflect on how these mindfulness techniques can be helpful during tough moments at school.

Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. The goal is to share experiences and learn from each other in a warm and supportive space.
