Welcome! What's Your Break Story?

Think about a recent school break.

Ask a provocative question to get participants thinking and sharing their experiences with school breaks.

Understanding the Impact: Students

School breaks can significantly impact students.

  • Emotional Impact: Anxiety, excitement, changes in routine, difficulty with re-entry.
  • Academic Impact: Summer slide, forgetting routines, disruption to learning momentum.
  • Behavioral Impact: Increased restlessness, difficulty focusing, behavioral challenges upon return.

Facilitate a discussion on how breaks impact students emotionally and academically.

  • Logistical Challenges: Grading deadlines, preparing for absence, catching up upon return.
